My fascination with travels around the world, navigation, software development, composing and playing melodies has led me to achieve highest qualifications of my ambitions, Master Mariner and MSc. Software Development (Scientific Computing).

From a very young age, I was fascinated with the world as a globe. After leaving school, I entered into a profession where I sailed around the world for many years becoming a navigator. Navigation has evolved from ancient and traditional methods. Although fascinated with the GPS technology I have learnt navigation with traditional and ancient methods using celestial objects, i.e. Sun, Moon, Planets, Stars and global meteorological systems.

Following is my favourite quote from the last chapter of one of my early learning books - Munro's Navigation

"Now this is not the end, it is not even the beginning of the end, but it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning."
(Sir Winston Churchill)

Sea to C++ and beyond
After completing high school education I started my career in the shipping industry operating worldwide. After many years of service at sea I decided to alter the course of my professional life and stepped into the IT industry. In the field of computer science I started from the days of GW-Basic (a dialect of IBM Basica) to the most advanced concepts of object oriented programming in C++, visual C++ and Java programming. However my major strengths were always Microsoft development platforms and web systems technologies.
The 180° turn took at least 10 years.

IT Consultant: (Technology/Solutions Architect)
As a technology/solutions architect, I provide consultancy services to major organizations in the private and public sectors, tranforming their legacy systems hosted on-premises infrastructure into the modernized cloud based technologies or on-premises virtualized infrastructure.

During the early 1990's after stepping into the IT industry, I started developing distributed software systems, i.e. client/server and web based applications using varying technologies and programming languages. Towards the end of the first decade of 2020, the IT Infrastrucutre started moving towards virtlization and service provider model, e.g. IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service), SaaS (Software as a Service), DBaaS (Database as a Service) etc. From the knowlege and experience gained over many years of software development, I transitioned into the systems architecture roles designing and implementing software systems on the virtulaized infrastructure and cloud based services:
